"The Symbol Breakers." Follow up to his 2022 piece "And It Keeps On Happening," Eikonoklastes continues with the themes set forth by the Diamond Model of Cultural Evolution. Gods rise. Gods wane. All systems of belief and custom are absorbed, replaced or smashed by the incoming order. The cataclysm against order in order to establish the new is oft violent and messy. What once was sacred is now blasphemy. Nothing escapes this process, not even our seeming eternal society of the modern world. What will replace us? Will any of our pieces survive the conflict? Only time will tell. It is inevitable.
